About the Book
Amber "AJ" Johnson is a freelance writer who has her heart set on becoming a full-time sports reporter at her paper. She has one chance to prove herself: capture an interview with the very private goalie of Baltimore's hockey team, Alec Kolchak. But he's the one man who tries her patience, even as he brings to life a quiet passion she doesn't want to admit exists.
Alec has no desire to be interviewed--he never has, never will. But he finds himself a reluctant admirer of AJ's determination to get what she wants...and he certainly never counted on his attraction to her. In a fit of frustration, he accepts AJ's bet: if she can score just one goal on him in a practice shoot-out, he would not only agree to the interview, he would let her have full access to him for a month, 24/7.
It was a bet neither one of them wanted to lose...and a bet neither one could afford to win. But when it came time to take the shot, could either one of them cross the line?

Reviews (Excerpts)
- "[...] The heroine is no slouch either, as she finds her confidence to push for what she wants. That desire brings quite a few conflicts to the surface and a lot of sexual tension to the mix. With a little give and take, the internal and external battles solidify the story points. Good job all around and looking forward to the next in the series. " - USA TODAY HEA Blog
- "Loved the story and the characters in in this book! I can not wait to read the next in this series!" - Jill Snead
- "Pleasantly surprised! With the first 3 books being released within a week-or-so, and no other reviews for any of the books, I was leery. The author introduced a variety of teammates (who I'm sure will show up in future books) in a way that was not overwhelming and actually developed them, rather than just throwing names out there and expecting us to remember or relate to them." - Nancy Nurse
About the Author
Author Lisa B. Kamps |
After all, why should she be forced to wait a whole week to read the stories of her favorite characters when she could create stories for them whenever she wanted? That love of writing continued to grow, along with all those voices in her head, even during her assorted careers: first as a firefighter with the Baltimore County Fire Department, then a very brief (and not very successful) stint at bartending in east Baltimore, and finally as the Director of Retail Operations for a busy Civil War non-profit.
Lisa currently lives in Maryland with her husband and two sons, one very spoiled Border Collie, two cats with major attitude, several head of cattle, and entirely too many chickens to count.
