Interspersed with powerful, poignant, and thematically relevant sketches and photos by the author, this book seeks to “educate you in your own emotional landscape,” make you “ponder your own humanity in all its frailty, humility, tragedy, and triumph,” and “illustrate to you both how to be human, and what the consequences are of being inhuman.” Follow the author on his journey through alcoholism, the loss of two sisters and a brother-in-arms, and the struggle to persevere even when all hope has been lost. It is a remarkable journey of experiences conveyed in words that is impossible to emerge from completely unscathed and untouched.
