The Devil's Opus is an examination of the sinister evil of the sociopath, and an exploration of the human response to it. The plot takes the reader on an emotional and deeply personal roller coaster ride as she reveals how Leo Buckman weaves a web of charm, lies, feigned illnesses, sad sob stories, counterfeit promises and unrequited love.
The Book has been self-published via Xlibris and is available as eBook, Hardcover, and Paperback - released in January 2014.
About the Book
The Devil's Opus is a novel about the wealthy and prominent Reno family, the Mezzos, and how they react to Leo Buckman, a sociopath, and his involvement with the demise of their daughter Katie.
Throughout the story is the love the Mezzos have for their granddaughter, Anna. Forced to abandon Katie to the despicable life she has chosen, their mission becomes the protection of Anna's life and innocence.
After Katie's brutal murder, the Mezzo family is left spinning with questions, spiritual devastation, and a lust for revenge that exposes their meanness and most sordid actions and emotions.

The world of her childhood is gone now, given away to the endless repetition of freeways, subdivisions and shopping malls. An avid environmentalist, Ms. Brown believes that this endless urban sprawl has become the American story. After graduating from Saint Mary of the Wasatch Catholic High School in Salt Lake City (also now defunct), she attended the University of Utah. There She studied philosophy, English literature, and education. Her twenty-five year teaching career began in Salt Lake and continued when her family moved to Nevada in 1988.
She currently lives with her husband and three French bulldogs in Carson City, where she continues to write, play piano and attempts to play the violin. Ms. Brown loves being outdoors and frequently visits Lake Tahoe and the surrounding Sierra Nevada Mountains.
