- "Give Me Shelter is a hot (hot, HOT) read that draws the reader deep into the characters as fate and bad decisions are woven together with action and badassery. Alexis' characters are real, interesting, and ultimately flawed in all the right ways. She gives us pieces of a puzzle that fit beautifully at the end with a believable "rough around the edges" finish. There's a lot of thought that goes into merging past and present, but the reader never gets lost within the story, only completely sucked in and invested. Each character is unique and fulfills a vital part of the plot without the story being crowded.
Not only is the writing intelligent and snarky, but the brilliantly penned sex scenes will have you smoldering in your reading chair! Wow! From first love to unrequited love, you'll need a cold drink to go with your scones if you don't have someone to tear up the sheets with :)
