Shady Palms is Allen Dusk's Debut Novel and this Horror Thriller with elements of Science Fiction will keep you guessing where the story is going to go; who will live and who will die. The characters are interesting and their dialogue convincing. Sure, almost every character in the book is a deeply flawed person – some of whom have committed terrible acts – but despite all that I found myself wanting to read more about them, learn more of their secrets before they meet their grim fates. His debut novel SHADY PALMS was released in October 2012. He is already busy working on his second novel OLD MILL ROAD and his Proteus Bell steampunk series. His short story "Terminal Affair" was selected for the premiere episode of The Sexy Librarian by Rose Caraway. Allen's shorter works can be found in numerous eZines, anthologies, and magazines around the globe.
Allen lives in San Diego, CA with his wife and daughter. Other than writing, his favorite pastimes include photography, lusting over old horror movies, and researching supernatural folklore.
Allen Dusk has been writing seriously since middle school, where he started racking up awards from Young Writer contests. In high school he had his first poem professionally published, and followed that with a string of short stories. Allen wrote a number of novellas and novels back then but never had the courage to do much with them.
College and seeking a stable career, and raising a family sucked up all of Allen's 20’s. In his 30’s he started writing screenplays, 5 of which have been produced. Now that Allen is "a little older and wiser," he recently published his first novel and has four more titles in various stages of development which he plans to release over the next five years.
